Uruguay Amethyst Cut Base

Uruguay Amethyst Cluster on a Cut Base

The deepest purple amethyst comes from Uruguay.

Cut flat at the base so it stands on its own, this cluster shows the saturated violet the region is known for, with crystal points that go from near-black at the core to glassy lilac at the tips. In crystal traditions amethyst is the stone of peace, kept close for calm and clear thinking. As an object it needs no such story; it catches window light and holds it.
